Safety optimization for a cement producer
For a client in the cement industry, both the walking platform in the crane boom and the shielding of a telescopic conveyor were thoroughly addressed.
The original steps in the crane boom were replaced with a continuous inclined walking platform with no height differences, fitted with anti-slip material for added safety. In addition, the telescopic conveyor belt was shielded with fiberglass-reinforced plastic grates, which can be easily removed for preventive or curative maintenance. These modifications significantly improved safety in the crane tube and reduced the risk of injury in incidents.
To accurately design the new tread and shielding, the inside of the crane boom was fully mapped with a 3D scan. This level of detail enabled efficient preparation in the contractor’s workshop.
To minimize crane downtime, installation of the new tread was performed in two phases. This approach combined improved safety with minimal production loss.
