Heat recovery cement production
In order to reduce the gas bill of a cement production company, a feasibility study was carried out to partially recover heat from the production process.
The intention was to use warm air from the production process as combustion air for a gas burner that heats iron slag from the neighbouring company to form powder.
The warm air was drawn from the chimney and led through a number of air ducts to the supply channel of the burner. The control was realised by means of electro-pneumatic butterfly valves.
Based on the final design, technical specifications were drawn up, which were used as the basis for a competition for the various works.
Based on the quotations, an estimate was made of the total cost of the project and an estimate of the return on investment (ROI).
